Mission Statement

The Redhawk volleyball program stresses the principles of responsibility and dedication to a team.  Everyone is an important part of the team, not just the "starters".  Therefore taking pride in the team is critical to the success of each team and the program as a whole.

All players are eligible for a varsity position.  The positions at all levels are earned and not given.  Playing time will not be equal; however, players do have an equal opportunity to develop their skills.  The coaches will meet with each player at the beginning of the season to let them know their anticipated role on the team and what they need to do to earn or keep this role.  Players may feel free to arrange a time to talk to their coach during the season about their role on the team and in the program.  For the benefit of the team, players may be asked to take a new position on the team as we progress through the season.  As teams form, changes may occur and should be anticipated.  If necessary, coaches will discuss any changes with the player.

COACHING PHILOSOPHY

The Naperville Central volleyball program begins and ends with the student athlete.  It is our goal to make this a valuable and fun learning experience for all participants and we always have the best interest of the players in mind.

Because we expect our players to be much more than just a volleyball player, we hold high expectations both on and off the court.  On the court we expect to see PRIDE, TEAMWORK and SPORTMANSHIP!  Off the court we expect see HARD WORK and DEDICATION in the classroom and POSITIVE CHOICES AND BEHAVIORS in every day life.

Each year in the program the expectations of the athlete increase, both on and off the court.  The coaches will push an athlete toward their potential but the athlete must do the work to achieve success.
