Redhawk Soccer 2002

To all parents:

Welcome to the Naperville Central Redhawk soccer program. The players have been working hard the past week in preparation for the upcoming season. As a parent of a soccer player you should be aware of several things as your son progresses through the soccer program.

1. Soccer is a six day commitment per week. There is practice on a regular basis and all players are expected to be at each practice. Players may be assigned to duties as the season progresses. Each player is expected to do his part for the good of the program. Players who accumulate 3 unexcused absences will be suspended from the team and may be dismissed.

2. Players are expected to act in a dignified manner both on and off the field since their conduct reflects upon the team, the school and the community.

3. Players are expected to maintain good study habits and to meet the academic standards as set by District 203 and the IHSA. There are weekly grade checks for all athletes. If an athlete is failing two classes during a one week period, he will be suspended from play the following week.

4. Players are expected to adhere to the athletic code. This includes abstinence from illegal drugs, tobacco and alcohol. Players are also expected to maintain good training habits including diet, exercise, and rest.

5. Players should dress appropriately for both games and practice.

6. Players should care for issued equipment and uniforms and return them in a timely manner at the end of the season. Please follow washing instruction. We do not want pink jerseys.

7.Players should show proper respect for our opponents, officials, teammates, and coaches. Showing dissent, “cheap shots”, and negative comments will not be tolerated. A red card requires a one game suspension by IHSA rules.

8. Players should know the laws of the game and play the game in the spirit of these laws.

9. Players should come to every practice and game ready to play to the best of their ability.

10. Players must ride to and from the game on the bus. There are liability issues involved in the transportation of students.

The coaching staff will make every effort to treat each player fairly and honestly. We simply ask that you do the same with us.The high school soccer team is not a recreational team. Playing time is determined on the basis of ability and hard work on a daily basis. Hard work and preparation both in and out of season will determine your son’s ultimate success in the program.

If you have any questions please call us at school at 420-6444. We will return your call ASAP.
Each team has a voice mail extension for timely information on the parent connection 420-6966.
