L 8-4 A match up between the last two state champions turned into a slugfest under the lights. A short field provided plenty of home runs between these two powerhouses. Derek Graham popped his 2nd home run of the season, but Lockport answered with three homeruns of their own. Andy Pucher and John Holm both got a chance on the bump, and were relieved by veteran Kevin Ericksen.

L 5-4 The Panthers were the first to scar the conference record of the Hawks. Trailing 5-4 in the top of the 7th, Sean Waszak hit a ball into left field. Adam Muller rounded third and scored easily. However, the umpire insisted that Muller had missed third base, and called him out to end the game. A "non-standard" way to end the game left the hawks 3-1 in the DVC. Kevin Ericksen and Dan Griffin provided the pitching power for the Hawks, while Sean Waszak picked up three hits. John Holm, Derek Graham, and Corey Pryor all had 2 hits

W 5-2 "It aint' over til' it's over." The old cliche came true for the Redhawks, as they pulled out a late-inning come-from-behind victory. Trailing 2-1, With 2 strikes and 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th, you would most certainly think that Naperville Central would pick up their first conference loss. Wrong. Derek Graham wholloped the ball over the centerfield fence with the bases loaded to pick up his first varsity grand slam, and what was the dagger to the Wildcats. Kyle Kaminska kept the Redhawks in the game, striking out 10, and allowing 2 earned runs on only 86 pitches.

L 14-4 Looking to avenge an embarrassing loss last year to the Hilltoppers, the Redhawks were only able to provide one innings worth of revenge. Kevin Ericksen was looking to forget when he lost to JCA 12-4 last year. The Redhawk defense was unable to help Ericksen, as they committed 8 official errors, as well as committing a medley of other miscues. Derek Graham had a single that plated two in the bottom of the first, and Matt Vorderer added another run in the bottom of the 2nd. But after that, it was all downhill for the Redhawks, as their defensive mishaps allowed the Hilltoppers to run up the score. Andy Pucher made his first relief appearance.

RADIO

L 8-0 The Naperville Central Redhawks lost their first IHSA game in a long long time, as they opened their season on a gloomy Saturday afternoon. Kyle Kaminska and the Hawks were unable to get any offense going against the Vikings of Fremd. Kaminska, who was 10-1 last spring, allowed just two hits in his 4 innings of work and struck out the side in the fourth inning to record 7 Ks on the day. But a throwing error opened the door for a 3-run homer, and more. Kevin Ericksen and Pat Kaminska got an inning each on the hill in relief of Kyle Kaminska.
