| Mike is a graduate of Byron High
School. He played football, basketball, baseball and ran track.
Mike was All-Conference in Basketball and Football, All-Area in Football
and an All-State Kicker. Mike received his undergraduate degree
from the University of Illinois in 1984. He played all four years
for the Fighting Illini. His senior year they played in the Rose
Bowl.
Mike came to Central as a math teacher in 1984. In '85 he took a position in the P.E. department. He started coaching at Naperville North in 1984, and at Illinois Benedictine College in 1985. He started coaching at Central in 1986. His sophomore teams have been a combined 47-7 over the last 7 seasons and presently have a 24 game win streak spanning the last three seasons. Mike and his wife Chris have three children; Adam (9), Karlie (8) and Corey (6). |
