A New Vision for the Courtyard of Naperville Central High School

The Naperville Central Honor Garden will be an aesthetically pleasing, multi-functional outdoor space, which will include a memorial element, such as a wall, to honor students, friends, and staff who have passed away. The idea is to create a “living” memorial, in which remembrance, celebration, and education can exist together.

MAJOR ELEMENTS:
Mini-amphitheater for outdoor classroom use, lunch, entertainment, special ceremony use
Gazebo - type focal point to amphitheater
Memorial wall framing the outer edge of the courtyard area
Alumni plaza - Brick plaza for centerpiece of amphitheater
Large mural on Library exterior wall
Seating for students through out
Walkway to enlarge the area currently being used by students
Variety of foliage to create more intimate feeling

The entire expense of this project will be done through donations of material, labor, and through fundraising such as commemorative brick sales, pancake breakfasts, and other creative fundraisers.

Contact the Student Activities Office at 630-420-6649 for more information.
