Who should attend this
Recruitment Fair? Persons who hold a valid teaching
certificate or will hold one by the time school starts.
Who should not attend this
event? Persons who hold substitute teaching certificates
(type 39) or who are interested clerical positions or classroom assistant
positions (educational support personnel)
Is the Recruitment Fair only
for the school that is hosting it? No, it is for the entire
district.
What school districts are
involved in this Recruitment Fair? Only District 203.
How many schools are in
District 203? 14 elementary schools, 5 junior high schools, and
2 high schools. We also have in-district special education programs for
early childhood through high school.
Will you be screening for all
grade levels and subject areas? Yes. We separate into
elementary, junior high, high school, special education, and administration for
the screening; each level will have its own area.
Who will do the screening?
Principals, Assistant Principals, Department Heads and other administrators.
Do I need a reservation?
No, we only take names to give us an estimate of how many will attend so that we
may staff adequately. If you have not called in, you are welcome to attend
anyway.
Do I need to arrive right at
6:30? No, you may arrive anytime between 6:30 and 8:45 p.m.
Do I need an appointment?
No, each area is organized with numbered tickets. When your number is
called, you will go to the next available screener.
Do I have to stay the entire
time? No
Do I need to bring anything
other than resumes? No. Please do not bring anything else.
How many resumes should I
bring? It depends on how many areas you will be screened in.
For example, if you are interested only in elementary, you need two at the most.
If you are interested in special ed and regular ed, you might wish to be
screened in each area and bring resumes to accommodate that.
Is this an interview? No, it is a brief (5-7
minute) screening.
Do I still need to complete the
online application? Yes, if you wish to be considered for a
teaching position in District 203. The online application is the only one
we accept and it is available to all district administrators for viewing.
Does my application have to be
complete before the Recruitment Fair? No
If I can’t come to the
Recruitment Fair, will it hurt my chances of being hired? No.
How long will I be at the
Recruitment Fair? It depends on how many people attend.
The more people that arrive at the same time the longer the wait is. Again, the
screening itself is about 5 minutes. You may arrive anytime between 6:30
and 8:45 p.m.
What should I wear?
Business attire or business casual.
How do I find the school where
the Fair is located? There is a map and written directions
provided on the website.
Is this for jobs for next year?
There may be a few positions available at this time, but most of
the positions are for next year. The majority of our posting will become
available in late March or early April on our website.
Are there many positions
available? Most of our postings will not be available until late
March or early April. You may always view our postings on our website –
click on Human Resources and then click on Certified. We update our
postings the first of every week.
