The 2003 Summer School Program is offered on a tuition basis only for all courses.   Tuition will be $130.00 for each four-week course.

Please print and complete the registration form, and mail with fee payment no later than Friday, May 2, 2003. NO REFUNDS will be granted after Friday, June 20, 2003.

Should you have any questions or wish additional information regarding summer school, please call 420- 6896 between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. weekdays. Please leave your message on the tape and the Summer School Secretary will return your call. Additional copies of course descriptions and registration forms are available in the office of your child�s attendance center.

KINDERGARTEN EXTENSIONS

1 � hour session           4-WEEK COURSE       Tuition: $130.00

This program is designed to help the child having completed kindergarten.  It emphasizes the development and remediation of reading, writing, and math skills based on the assessment of individual needs.  Attention is also given to listening skills and increasing the ability to follow directions and work independently.

MATHEMATICS EXTENSIONS

1 � hour session           4-WEEK COURSE       Tuition: $130.00

This course is designed for students who have completed grades 1,2,3,4 or 5 and who are achieving at grade level or below grade level.  It focuses on maintaining and improving basic mathematics skills.  Hands on manipulative activities are used to reinforce the concepts of mathematics.

READING/LANGUAGE ARTS EXTENSIONS (Elementary)                     

1� hour session                4-WEEK COURSE      Tuition: $130.00

This course is designed for students who have completed grades 1,2,3,4 or 5 and who are achieving at grade level or below grade level.  It focuses on reading strategies and comprehension skills as well as accuracy and fluency.  There are numerous and varied activities intended to enhance written and oral expression.

ENRICHMENT MATHEMATICS (Elementary)                                         

1� hour session             4-WEEK COURSE                 Tuition: $130.00

This course is designed for students who have completed grades K,1,2,3,4 or 5 and who are achieving above grade level.  Activities will focus on formulating solutions to math problems, and the review and expansion of math skills.           

ENRICHMENT READING/LANGUAGE ARTS (Elementary)

This course is designed for students who have completed grades K,1,2,3,4 or 5 and who are achieving above grade level.  It focuses on higher level thinking skills and provides enriching activities to extend reading comprehension and written and oral expression.

STUDY SKILLS (Upper Elementary)

1� hour session             4-WEEK COURSE                 Tuition: $130.00

This course is for students who have completed grades 4 or 5 and focuses on the skills of note taking, following directions, and test taking.  Emphasis is placed on the basic organizational skills that will facilitate the development of student responsibility.
