PATRIOTIC, AND EDUCATIONAL
MAIN PURPOSES: EDUCATION
IN OUR SCHOOLS
CURRENT ACTIVITIES:

Provide an opportunity for participation in the
National DAR History Essay contest on a specific theme each year in 5th,
6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

Hold oral contests for 7th and 8th grade students
with judges from DAR.
-
Select a DAR good citizen winner from each high
school with the school's participation.
AVAILABLE:
-
Junior American Citizen Clubs can be whole classrooms,
any grade levels, schools, individuals, etc. Materials and contests provided
by the National Society.

Flag programs and assemblies can be adapted to
any grade level. Children can perform for city groups or other schools.
-
Genealogy forms can be provided as classroom projects
or extra credit.
-
Programs on historical figures can be presented
on any grade level.
-
Conservation projects can be coordinated through
science classes.
-
ROTC medals can be provided if such a group already
exists.
-
Good citizen medals can be provided - not connected
with DAR Good Citizen Program.
